14.7.10

wound up

After weeks of learning to use spindles, niddy noddies and carders, I was thrilled to get the opportunity to dye my hand-spun yarn. The Merino, Silk and Angora fibers soaked up the Earthhues dyes perfectly without losing any of their natural luster. One day the skeins will a make beautiful scarf but for now they'll remain eye candy.

Note: Since our class, Jake has been spinning, spinning and spinning while experimenting with natural plant dyes (strawberries, blueberries and beets) in his own work- the results of which have been stunning.
